Wednesday Vignette: A promise unfulfilled

For several days, various weather forecasts referred to the prospect of rain early this week.  While I scoffed at the possibility, I of course held out a vague hope that rain, or at least drizzle, might actually materialize.  The clouds on the horizon yesterday morning held promise.

It looked as though rain was falling somewhere out in the distance

Jane, who blogs at Close to Home, published her own photos of gray clouds yesterday but she got a few honest-to-goodness sprinkles.  I was gone most of the afternoon but my weather station recorded no measurable rain and the late afternoon sky was clear.

At least some of the usual gray smudge along the horizon dissipated

A few stray clouds to the northeast turned a pretty pink as the sun set but that's all we got from the system that blew through.

This series of harbor views is my Wednesday Vignette.  Visit Anna at Flutter & Hum to see what images caught her fancy and that of other participants.
